Juan Figueroa for Ulster County Sheriff: Vote for Progress

When I ran for county legislator in Plattekill, I didn't win, but some great things came out of the experience. I got to meet some great people along the way. And I have to say, I was extremely fortunate to have gotten to know Juan Figueroa who ran alongside me (for supervisor) during the campaign season. Juan is now running for Sheriff of Ulster County - and I write here to let people know that, based on my experience working with Juan, I can state without equivocation that he is the real deal. If you want the leader of our sheriff's department to be someone with an exemplary record of service and leadership - on an international scale - then I suggest that you give your strongest consideration to Juan Figueroa.

Juan Figueroa Built Towns in the Desert on Behalf of the United States Military

When I think about what Juan brings to the table compared with my own experiences, I am truly humbled. I have not served in the formidable United States Military. I was not a marine during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. I did not run logistical operations programs in the Middle East - creating virtual towns in the middle of the desert for our military personnel during wartime conditions on behalf of our nation.

But Juan Figueroa did.

Juan Figueroa won, among many other honors, a Meritorious Service Medal for his work in the United States Marine Corp.  

Think.about.that.

And if you look at Juan's resume, you'll see that this is just one of many honors that he has been granted during his storied career.

Across the past several decades, Juan has worked as an investigator for the New York State Troopers, working tirelessly to stop crime and to uphold ethical standards in the running of our communities. Across his various roles for our local, state, and national organizations, Juan consistently has demonstrated the highest levels of integrity coupled with a strong focus on community. Juan is a natural leader and he has an exceptional record of giving back to the community.

Do you want positive change? Do you think that Ulster County leadership could use some improvement? Do you want to see our community headed on a path to greatness? If so, I strongly suggest that you do what you can to support Juan Figueroa for Sheriff.

Juan is the prototype of a community leader. He is compassionate, ethical, experienced, smart, and strong. As a logistical specialist for the United States Marine Corp, Juan literally has been awarded accolades by the United States military for his work in building towns for our armed forces during wartime conditions. If the United States armed forces has trusted Juan to build towns for our troops, I think he has what it takes to run the Ulster County Sheriff's office.

To my mind, Juan is a gem of a candidate. And it is without question that he has what it takes to bring Ulster County to the next level.

A vote for Juan Figueroa is a vote for the future of the Hudson Valley. A vote for Juan is, without question, a vote that will help us move forward as a community.
